Mail envoye au support Chine (premiere etape), dans la langue de Shakespeare :
Dear Sir, Madam,
I am a French man currently living in Beijing (I bought my computer in France).
I switched from an old HP laptop to a 15 inch MacBook Pro in June 2006. It is a wonderful machine, with great style, I love OSX, the Apple way to make computer experience easier. But there is a "but".
I expected from an Apple computer a better OS stability, no virus, good softwares, great design : on these points, my MBP is perfect.
But also : hardware reliability
Since a few months, I am experiencing some issues with my machine :
- First, a major hardware issue : my Matshita UJ-857 superdrive is not working properly anymore. It will probably be replaced, no problem. But if you count the number of complains on the internet, you can easily assume that the new one will not last more than 6 months (and the warranty will be over). I think this is not acceptable from Apple to do nothing clear about this issue (no clear customer information).
- Secondly, some look and feeling issues :
- When I put my hand on the laptop to use the trackpad, the aluminium case is making a weird sound (as if parts are not assembled properly or have some clearance).
- The screen latch is deformed (maybe due to overheat), which doesn't give me much confidence when opening / closing the laptop.
- Three of the "MacBook Pro" silver letters sticked at the bottom of the screen has falled down.
Conclusion :
In my mind, Apple computers represent both quality and style in the same product. That is why I decided to spend about 2000 Euros in this MBP, but the quality does not meet my expectations.
I do not write this email to get any commercial gesture from you (If you do, I will not say no

), but only to get my problems fixed, express my feelings and take part in the improvement of the Apple products (Also I think that you need support from mac users in China to increase your market share).
I trust Apple, and I want my next computer to be a mac !
Thanks to have spent some of your time to read this email.
Best Regards,
